The clinics are every second Wednesday with Forbes Hospital midwife Tracey Barnden.

The idea of the clinics is to improve the transition from the hospital to the medical centre for women post-delivery, as well as offering advice on pregnancy and breastfeeding.

“We want to increase services in the area and make them more accessible for patients, providing more holistic care,” Forbes Medical Centre nurse manager Shelley Clark said.

The clinics are open to anyone – from pregnant women to those who have recently given birth.

Women don’t need to have a referral – they can just ring the medical centre to make an appointment.

“It’s giving women another avenue of support and to try to increase the rate of breastfeeding,” Ms Barnden said.

“Women having their first pregnancy may also have questions or concerns. Even if they just need their blood pressure checked, I can do it.”

The next clinic will be next Wednesday, November 11. To make an appointment, call Forbes Medical Centre on 6851-1300.
